Through this resource list we hope to provide you with information that may interest your family.


1. THEAC Information on Home Education sheet – this is provided to you on your initial enquiry and contains a list of resources on home education available at the Tasmanian State Library together with some useful websites. Contact the THEAC Office [6334 5381] for a copy of this sheet.
2. THEAC newsletter – this is provided to you with the above information sheet and contains many useful contact details for home education groups, websites, resource information.
3. Local libraries, museums, private tutors.
4. Interest areas, eg sports/music groups, clubs/organisations.

Entered 1/9/10 Meet Graeme Base and celebrate the launch of his new book "The Legend of the Golden Snail [special price $25]". Mount Carmel College 3.30-5.00pm on the 27th September, 2010. Parking available at Wrest Point Casino. Please RSVP by 23rd Sept to secure your seats. Graeme will sign this new, and prior, books if purchased at the launch or on the official Birchalls order form. Opportunity for children to enter a "drawing" competition (sailor/sea) theme, a writing competition where they can write a "sea shantie/poem" or come along in "fancy dress". The prizes will be signed copies of "The Legend of the Golden Snail". Entries to be dropped in on the Thursday or Friday the week before. An exciting opportunity for children and parents to meet Graeme, he will read from his book and take questions. The drawings will be displayed and winners of the writing section will be read out. Entered 26/7/2010 Masterclass International is offering free access to its Online Learning Club for 3 months! "The Learning Club has almost 2000 lessons on it in almost every subject from PreSchool to GCSE 'O' levels and video lessons as well. You can use the Internet to access the website and enjoy it for free. There are even online tutors to help with any problems. If you'd like to try this, just send me an email and I'll send you a login name and password. After the 3 months, it's just US$ 15/month to continue and there's no minimum subscription."

Entered 8/6/2010 Positive Partnerships FREE workshop and information session for parent/carers of school aged students with AUTISM Launceston 27 & 28 October, 2010. Adapted to the different ages, educational settings and specific needs of students with ASD through elective specific information sessions. Facilitated by professionals with extensive knowledge and experience working with children and young people with autism and their families. An efficient and supportive way to break isolation for some parents through networking support up to 3 months after each workshop.
